Thursday’s lesson
Free the jaw and tongue; relax into it, then add rhythm, then speed
reh·cord
reh·cord (n.) /ˈrɛk.ɔːd/ — a record of a rehearsal.
Breath, placement, the vowel, the phrase you just sang: keep your teacher’s advice alongside the sound. reh·cord records the whole lesson, singing included, and writes down what was said. Read it back afterwards, and go straight to the moment you need.

Letting go
Free the jaw and tongue; relax into it, then add rhythm, then speed.
Make sure you’re not clamping the jaw.
We think about breath, of course we think about the vowel — but we forget the clamp here, the jaw and the tongue.
We have to make sure we’re not compressing everything. That will slow you down, for sure.
Even if you can sing it at tempo, it will feel laboured. It will be tiring.
Let’s try it without the push on each note. Slowly — two breaths.
Yes — yes, that’s good.
Here, just make sure you hold it to the end of the phrase.
Same thing: do it with the breath, not with force. You don’t need strength for this.
Much better. Get comfortable with this.
Relax into this, then add rhythms, then speed.
Marker — “relax, then rhythms, then speed”
It’s no use going straight from this to performing — we’ll just get tight.
Let’s do the next one.
That’s excellent. And this one: think light.
The verse before is big, it’s forte — maybe the biggest.
So the one in between should be light, fleeting, not forceful.
You can sing it even lighter, and maybe a touch faster.
Not that fast — but not with strength.
So let’s go to the next one.
Mark the moment
Press Marker when something happens — on the Lock Screen, in the Dynamic Island or on an Apple Watch, without unlocking.
A mark, here in the recording.
Tap to mark the moment.
Find it again beside the words.
Relax into this, then add rhythms, then speed.

Leave a beat of quiet and say “Marker” — with a note if you like: “Marker, that was the placement.” reh·cord hears it on the device, and the mark lands where you said it, without a tap.
Notebooks
Lessons, coachings and masterclasses are filed in notebooks, on a shelf of covers you choose.
On a device with Apple Intelligence, each recording gets a short summary, in the style you choose: bullet points, concise or detailed.
There is no account. Nothing is sent to reh·cord — everything happens on the device. Sync is your own iCloud, or nothing at all.

Questions
The whole lesson. reh·cord keeps every minute, playing included, and writes down what was said. On the page, each stretch of playing has a line of its own, so you can tap it and hear it again.
Individual singing and instrument lessons — piano, violin, guitar, brass, woodwind — and just as well a masterclass, a coaching or your own rehearsal. More on recording music lessons.
Yes. The recording, the transcript and the summaries are all made on your device. There is no account, and nothing is sent to reh·cord. Sync is your own iCloud, or nothing at all.
No. The transcribing happens on the device itself, so a lesson in a practice room with no signal is written down just the same.
Choose your lessons’ language in the app. If one recording was held in another language, transcribe it again in that one.
Yes. Import an audio recording, or a video of a lesson, and reh·cord writes it down like one of its own.
Only for the summaries. Recording, transcripts, markers, notebooks and search all work without it.
